Christina Karl is the Managing Director, Asia, in Berry Appleman & Leiden’s Singapore office. She possesses twenty years’ experience in global mobility and migration matters related to Asia including experience as an immigration officer, as an in-house manager of a Fortune 500 company’s expatriate workforce, and as a longstanding professional working for the world’s leading relocation service companies. Ms. Karl manages the Singapore office and leads BAL’s Asia operations. She graduated from Auckland Business College with a diploma in Travel and Tourism. She is a member of the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council, the American Chamber of Commerce, and the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce.
Sandip Bhandal is an Immigration Manager in Berry Appleman & Leiden’s Singapore office. Ms. Bhandal is a Solicitor of England and Wales (non-practising) and has been advising on immigration matters for over eight years, having worked in large immigration firms in the U.K. including a Big 4 immigration practice. Throughout her career, Ms. Bhandal has worked on a broad spectrum of immigration applications. Her areas of expertise include providing professional immigration advice to large multinational organisations regarding their day-to-day HR immigration issues such as inbound and outbound work authorisations in the UK and globally. Ms. Bhandal focuses on the delivery of corporate immigration matters for the Asia region and works closely with clients to create tailored protocols, procedures, and policies, review overall immigration strategy, and develop short- and long-term business immigration solutions. She received her LLB (Hons) Law from the University of Westminster, London; completed her Legal Practice Course at College of Law, London; and is admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
Annette Tran is an Immigration Manager in Berry Appleman & Leiden’s Singapore office. Ms. Tran focuses on overseeing immigration advisors on all case work, including review of filings, as well as communicating with employees and human resources departments. She handles the delivery of corporate immigration matters for the Asia region. Ms. Tran works closely with clients to create tailored protocols, procedures, and policies; review overall immigration strategy; develop short- and long-term immigration tactics and help navigate the Asia region with the assistance of BAL’s network partner base. Ms. Tran holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania where she was a Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholar, and completed her legal education at Syracuse University School of Law where she was an executive editor of the Syracuse Law Review. She is admitted to the State Bar of Massachusetts and the State Bar of New York. Ms. Tran is fluent in English and is conversant in Vietnamese.
