Tuesday, June 16, 2015
Karstens Conference Centre
111 Harrington Street, The Rocks, Sydney NSW Australia

Please join BAL Managing Director, Oceania Tim Denney, and BAL Managing Director, Asia Christina Karl as they participate in a special Master Series presentation on the recent changes to immigration legislation in the APAC region. Emergent legislation and trends in Australia, China, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Singapore will be discussed. The consequences of the new legislation and how it may affect your immigration program will be reviewed, including: employer obligations, compliance, the unique considerations of business travelers, and frameworks for best practice.  Case studies will play an important role in the session.

Learning Objectives

  1. Learn about recent changes to immigration legislation in countries across Asia Pacific, with a focus on Australia, China, India, Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore; explore emerging trends, governmental enforcement, and what is around the corner.
  2. Understand how these changes are particular to specific countries; neighboring countries often have immigration policies which are contrary. Learn how to implement a policy which captures changing immigration laws as they come to hand.
  3. Discover best practices for your immigration program, including centralizing immigration programs, using technology wisely, and developing corporate immigration policies to guide your company in reducing risk and remaining compliant.
