Peggy Smith: Our Woven Workforce
In the March issue of Mobility magazine, Worldwide ERC® President and CEO Peggy Smith paints this picture for us: an IT specialist in Thailand working on a project in London; U.S. hospitality managers on temporary assignment in Dubai to launch a new hotel; and a writer in India developing training manuals with her globally disbursed team. Increasingly, she notes, this is today’s workforce - a fabric woven of traditional employees and contract workers.

Read About U.S. Tax Reform, the Mobile Workforce Act, Trade Agreements, and the H-1B
We are at the halfway point of the first 100 days of the new U.S. administration. Since our last Government Affairs Community Update, House Republicans have made progress on legislation to change the Affordable Care Act. There’s also been activity in U.S. tax reform and the Mobile Workforce Act, trade agreements, the H-1B visa and more. Read the current issue of "Government Affairs Community Update: The First 100 Days" here!

And more government affairs news: A federal judge in Hawaii - U.S. District Court Judge Derrick Watson - halted implementation of an executive order scheduled to take effect on Thursday, March 16, suspending new visas from being issued to certain nationals of six countries.  The restraining order applies nationwide, in response to a case brought by the State of Hawaii.
