Worldwide ERC® is pleased to announce that 211 members have earned the Certified Relocation Professional™ (CRP®) designation and one member has earned the Senior Certified Relocation Professional™ designation after successfully passing the CRP® exam on May 9, 2012. The CRP® program was introduced in 1990 to formally recognize relocation professionals' knowledge of the U.S. domestic relocation industry and workforce mobility process.
Over 3,500 Worldwide ERC® members currently hold the CRP® designation. 2011-2012 Worldwide ERC® CRP® Certification Review Board Chairman Rob Giese, SCRP, GMS, Lexicon Relocation, directed the process to develop the 2012 exam, and was pleased with this year’s participation. “Professional development is critical in every economic landscape. During the recession, the value of designations was even more significant to incumbent employees and job seekers. Now that the U.S. economy is on steadier footing, professionals with a deeper understanding of our industry’s issues are in high demand, and often employers seeking mobility professionals look for the CRP® designation as an indicator of industry experience and knowledge. We are pleased to welcome 212 new CRP®s this month, and applaud the designees and their employers for successfully reaching this goal. It is my honor to have worked with my committee as we developed and rolled out this year’s exam, and I add my sincere congratulations to all of our designees.”
The May 9 CRP® exam tested 264 candidates on their knowledge of relocation appraising, relocation-related real estate, corporate relocation policies and issues, relocation tax and legal issues, family relocation issues, and mobility strategies. It was conducted prior to Worldwide ERC®'s National Relocation Conference at 15 different exam locations sponsored by Worldwide ERC®-recognized Regional Groups. Sites included were Boston, MA (New England Relocation Association); Bridgewater/Parsippany, NJ (New Jersey Relocation Council); Charlotte, NC (Charlotte Metro Area Relocation Council); Chicago, IL (Corporate Relocation Council of Chicago); Cleveland, OH (Northeast Ohio Relocation Roundtable); Columbus, OH (Relocation Council of Central Ohio); Dallas, TX (North Texas Relocation Professionals); Denver, CO (Rocky Mountain Relocation Council); Houston, TX (Houston Relocation Professionals); Minneapolis, MN (Minnesota Employee Relocation Council); Salt Lake City, UT (Inter-mountain Relocation Council); San Antonio, TX (San Antonio Regional Relocation Council, held on-site at the Worldwide ERC National Relocation Conference); Scottsdale, AZ (Arizona Relocation Alliance); Seattle, WA (Pacific Northwest Relocation Council); and Washington, DC (Greater Washington Employee Relocation Council).
