Worldwide ERC®, the workforce mobility association, inducted two new members into its esteemed Hall of Leaders on Thursday, May 8, 2014. Hall of Leader induction is the highest honor in the organization’s service award recognition program. The program honors the importance of members’ voluntary contributions to the association through three levels of awards, based on the accrual of points earned for service:
- A Meritorious Service Award: earned after the accumulation of 10 points;
- A Distinguished Service Award: earned after the accumulation of 25 points; and
- Hall of Leaders Induction: conferred after an individual earns four Distinguished Service Awards, or accumulates 100 service points.
Gary Dittrich, GMS-T, The Dittrich Group, Fairfield, CT, and Susan Schneider, SCRP, GMS, Plus Relocation Services, Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota are the newest inductees, joining just 49 other colleagues who have earned the distinction since the awards program was implemented in 1989.
Dittrich’s contributions to the organization and the industry are extensive, including authoring numerous articles for the association’s monthly magazine, Mobility; serving on multiple committees and task forces; and spearheading the development and expansion of Worldwide ERC®’s government relations program, through his leadership in the establishment of the association’s Coalition. He was instrumental in urging and supporting Worldwide ERC® to take a more global focus, and currently serves as Chairman of the association’s first Government Affairs Global Forum.
Schneider has also made significant contributions to the industry and the association. In addition to authoring magazine articles and serving on various association committees, Schneider has the distinction of having held all offices within Worldwide ERC®’s Executive Committee during her Board tenure from 2008 through 2012, serving as secretary-treasurer, vice president, president and chairman. She was instrumental in guiding the association in new directions, from conference initiatives to the association’s leadership transition to a new board structure. She served on the Boards for the association’s Foundation for Workforce Mobility and Coalition, and chaired the Program Planning Committees for the National Relocation Conference and Global Workforce Symposium.
The induction ceremony occurred during the Opening General Session of the association’s National Relocation Conference in Orlando, Florida. The honor was conferred by 2014 Worldwide ERC® Chairman of the Board, Pandra Richie, SCRP, SGMS-T, Long & Foster Companies, who noted that “Worldwide ERC® and the global mobility industry as a whole are made better and stronger for the gifts of time, talent and expertise that these members have so generously shared. It is my honor to welcome these two very special people into such an esteemed group of professionals.”
