The Global Workforce Symposium, workforce mobility’s premiere event that brings together all sectors of mobility for networking, education, and more launched last week in its first-ever all-virtual format. As the workforce mobility industry and relocation professionals continue to confront unique challenges in the world of work, this year’s GWS provides an opportunity to discuss lessons learned while looking towards the future. Across all sectors and through the diversely talented professionals keeping the workforce moving, this year has proven that mobility is where work is going.
In case you missed it, day one of GWS was kicked off on 28 October by President and CEO of Worldwide ERC® Lynn Shotwell, who gave opening remarks reflecting on the past year while looking forward to where work is going. This was followed by a full day of educational breakout sessions on such topics as diversity and inclusion, real estate trends, and achieving business growth. Day two of GWS followed on 29 October and featured Worldwide ERC® Board of Directors Chairman Ed Hannibal, GMS, who praised the organizations and leaders who have continued to successfully meet the challenges of workforce mobility. More educational sessions followed on such topics as relocation service models and strategies for keeping mobility relevant.
Day three of GWS concluded on 30 October after a day of corporate benchmarking and practice sharing across the mobility industry. But before the sun set on the first full week of GWS, industry peers gathered for a Halloween-themed networking happy hour dressed in fun and spooky Halloween costumes.
From education and practice sharing to networking and taking time to unwind and connect with peers, GWS will continue to provide the space for even more learning and networking opportunities this week! Beginning with a panel of public policy experts and policymakers to discuss the U.S. elections and their impact on the workforce mobility industry, this week will be the GWS Public Policy Forums on 11/4 and 11/5, which cover public policy topics ranging from global, immigration and tax to real estate and compliance.
So don’t miss out! From educational sessions and breakouts to networking and connection among peers, GWS will continue to foster connection and learning across the globe for all sectors of the industry. There’s something for everyone at mobility’s biggest annual gathering, and we encourage you to check out our schedule of events and speakers to get a glimpse of what this year’s GWS has to offer.
And if you haven’t already: register now! It’s not too late to sign up to experience this new format with all the elements you’ve come to expect from the Global Workforce Symposium. Join us at the first-ever virtual, month-long Global Workforce Symposium from now until 20 November 2020.
