Newest Report Is Latest in Effort to Promote Sustainable Practices for Our Industry

2021 was a pivotal year in the global fight against climate change. Governmental and corporate sustainability requirements are becoming more and more rigorous in response to growing concerns about climate change and its wide-reaching effects.

There is no denying that the relocation of employees has a large environmental footprint, and many in our industry have been actively engaged in reducing our impact.

We want to be part of the solution. Global mobility and human resources professionals told us as much in our recently released research. But sustainability is a never-ending journey. It requires consistent improvement over time, holding ourselves and each other accountable.

Worldwide ERC is on this journey with you. We have launched our Forging the Future on Sustainability initiative, which so far includes research with senior human resource leaders, the formation of a Sustainability Advisory Council of senior mobility leaders, and just last week, we produced a landscape report to help our industry develop a shared understanding and response to sustainability.

The goal of this report is to provide a reference point for what sustainability means, the commitments being made by governments and companies, and the many independent organizations and measures that may guide our members’ own work on sustainability.

There is more to come. In the meantime, we invite you to share your thoughts, ideas, and best practices with us and each other. Together, as partners in the global mobility industry, we can do our part to create a more sustainable world.
