From 24 to 26 May, Worldwide ERC® held its Spring Conference in a virtual format.

Global issues, local solutions: that was the overarching theme of this year’s Spring Conference, where industry peers gathered to discuss lessons learned over the past year and look forward to the future of work. While the pandemic isn’t over, many parts of the world are slowly moving towards a new reality centered on important issues like remote work, compliance, DE&I, and much more. Supporting these new imperatives is the mobility industry as it continues to guide employers and employees through unprecedented challenges.

This spring, the mobility industry came together virtually to discuss these challenges and the lessons learned along the way. Between 24 and 26 May, we retained all of the key elements of our in-person event: dynamic speakers, robust concurrent educational sessions, an extensive marketplace and exhibition hall, networking opportunities and events while bringing together relocation professionals including corporate relocation managers, real estate professionals and relocation service representatives, and more.

The first day was kicked off by future of work and change leadership expert Cheryl Cran who discussed upcoming trends and the impact of the pandemic on the future of work. Sessions on remote work, real estate trends, and inclusive leadership were followed by networking opportunities like our “Networking in the Wild” challenge.

The second day saw these conversations continue, with additional sessions covering a range of topics from public policy, the reinvention of global mobility, corporate housing, supplier relationships, and more. When attendees weren’t learning best practices from industry peers, they were connecting in the virtual scavenger hunt hosted by our Young Professionals group.

Finally, the three-day virtual conference closed with a session on Worldwide ERC®’s new remote work research and what the future of global mobility will look like, as well as sessions on duty of care, women’s leadership, and more. Following a discussion led by the Worldwide ERC® Board of Directors was a corporate benchmarking session that allowed corporate HR leaders to come together and learn how to benchmark their programs.

“We are the only association to have the privilege to represent every service sector from locations around the world,” said Worldwide ERC® President and CEO Lynn Shotwell. “We bring the local and the global together, which gives us the ability to see where work is going.” Throughout all these events, it was evident that no matter where work is going, the mobility industry will always come together to share insights and lessons learned across a wide range of expertise that demonstrates the enduring value of global mobility.

In case you missed it, for a limited time you can still register to access our conference platform, and head over to the content hub to watch session recordings.
