At this year’s all-virtual, month-long Global Workforce Symposium (GWS), our five public policy forums will discuss pressing issues across global, immigration, tax, real estate and mortgage, and regulatory and compliance mobility topics.

Across key sectors of workforce mobility, employers and employees have had to quickly adapt to unprecedented challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s been a year unlike any other, but government and business leaders have stepped up to the task of ensuring business continuity so that global workforce mobility can in turn return to doing what it does best. While there’s been lessons learned from immigration and global issues to real estate, tax, and regulatory and compliance issues, 2021 will also likely hold new challenges for us.

In 2020, some of the important policies, expertise and updates Worldwide ERC® and its Public Policy Forum leaders have provided to the workforce mobility industry throughout the year include updates to: Brexit and the upcoming new skills-based immigration system, as well as updates on the autonomy of Hong Kong U.S. president Donald Trump’s visa entry ban and new Department of Labor H-1B and green card wage increase rule how governments around the world responded to COVID-19; real estate’s evolution during COVID-19; how remote work could affect the tax situation of employers and employees and much more.
