This year’s Global Workforce Symposium (GWS) was an amazing opportunity for our industry to come together to get our “game on.” With over 1,400 global mobility professionals joining us last week, I was absolutely thrilled to have the chance to engage directly with our members, learn more from our industry’s experts and, of course, have fun in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.

Teaming Up as One Industry

I was especially excited to meet directly with members in small group settings throughout the conference, learning firsthand how Worldwide ERC® can continue to provide value for our membership. These in-depth discussions—with over 50 members representing companies across different service areas—provided valuable insights into what our members are looking for as we continue to face new challenges as one industry.

Upping Our Game with the Experts

One recurring theme that I heard from members was the significance and value of professional education programming and communications. GWS has always been a major forum for thoughtful discussion and careful consideration of the latest trends affecting global mobility, an event where participants get to hear directly from the people at the cutting edge of mobility. Our industry has such a depth and breadth of experience, and I am grateful for all those who shared their expertise this year at GWS2022.

A New Playbook for Environmental Sustainability

Environmental sustainability continues to be an issue of special importance to our members. I am proud of our ongoing efforts to advocate for more sustainable practices, including the release of our first-ever sustainability survey, comments in response to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s proposed climate disclosure rule, and our recent partnership with five leading employee mobility associations from around the world dedicated to securing a more sustainable future for our industry.

Playing for a Cause

This year’s Foundation Celebration was also an incredible success. Together, we were able to raise over $120,000 for our two charitable organization partners, Move for Hunger and Family Promise, while having an amazing time at XS Las Vegas. I appreciate all the work that the Foundation for Workforce Mobility did to make the event possible.

The Game Continues With Virtual Corporate Benchmarking Sessions

With so much great content coming out of GWS2022, we have set up virtual corporate benchmarking sessions to keep the conversation going. Corporate HR professionals can sign up here or reach out to Deisy Garcia, our new corporate liaison, at, with any questions.

Similarly, over the next few weeks, we will continue releasing articles that explore the topics raised at GWS2022—with a special focus on professional education and sustainability—so keep an eye out for our weekly Mobility Minute newsletter as well as our quarterly Mobility magazine.
