Worldwide ERC Closes Women’s History Month With Virtual Celebration
Karen Cygal - Mar 30 2023As part of our monthlong focus on women, we hosted, in collaboration with the Corporate Housing Providers Association, a special virtual event to celebrate the achievements of women in the mobility industry.
March is National Women’s History Month and is when we celebrate International Women's Day. We have spent the month focused on promoting gender equity as part of our overall commitment to advancing strategies that create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplaces.
As part of our monthlong focus on women, we hosted, in collaboration with the Corporate Housing Providers Association, a special virtual event to celebrate the achievements of women in the mobility industry. I would especially like to thank our sponsors Stay Sojo and CapRelo for all their help in making this event possible, as well as the Women of Global Mobility for facilitating our exciting speed networking session. The meeting provided a dynamic and engaging opportunity for attendees to connect with fellow mobility professionals and discuss how the relocation and corporate housing communities can come together to promote gender equity.
Led by a keynote address from Jennifer Willey, the CEO and founder of Wet Cement, participants discussed topics such as how we can all work to build a more inclusive culture within the mobility community; how to develop our own “personal boards of directors” for mentorship and encouragement; and how we can take the necessary steps to achieve a fulfilling work-life balance. The event also featured two interactive breakout sessions, providing spaces for our participants to dive deeper into this year’s global theme for International Women’s Day, #EmbraceEquity.
Here at Worldwide ERC, we are proud of our steadfast commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment, and many of our most senior leadership roles are occupied by women who bring a wealth of expertise and experience from across our industry. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with so many dedicated leaders such as our CEO, Lynn Shotwell, and our new board of directors—a majority of which is comprised of women—as well as the broader mobility community that continues catalyzing transformation in workplaces around the world.
Even as National Women’s History Month comes to a close, we encourage all of our members to continue the important conversations that began at this event and to keep finding new and exciting ways to celebrate the incredible contributions of women in the mobility community.
